Explore the enchanting old town with our city guides and enjoy Steyr's traditional trumpet fanfare welcoming Christmas over a steaming mug of mulled wine on the city square, and browse the Christmas markets with stunning local crafts. Visit the charming town of Christkindl and see if you can spot the eponymous Christ child figurine in the altar of the baroque church, explore the exhibition of historical nativity scenes, and stamp and mail your Christmas cards at the world-famous Christkindl post office.

A historical New Year's in Steyr
Experience history first hand. Let the Steyr night watchmen, dressed in traditional garb, complete with halberd, horn, and lantern, lead you on an exceptional New Year’s adventure. Enjoy the many culinary delights and the marvels of Steyr's 1000 year history on your exclusive tour through the old town.
After visits to the "Steyrer Kripperl" nativity play and the "Michaelerkeller", a medieval wine cellar, the tour will take you to the Lamberg Castle. Listen to fascinating stories about the Countess Katharina of Lamberg and delight in a festive gala dinner in the former horse stables, now the Grand Salon of the baroque reconstruction of the medieval fortress. Your travel through time ends at the Orangery in the castle’s gardens with a traditional midnight waltz with champagne and fireworks to ring in the new year.
